Mansion Makeover

Fulton Mansion, page Fulton, TX
Completed in 1877 for George and Harriet Fulton, the home was a technological marval for its time in Texas. The home had modern plumbing with operating water (a toilet and bath tub), central heating and a gas lighting program. The house was so well constructed it survived the fantastic Galveston Hurricane of 1900.

I decided to have some further, weekend, HDR exciting by processing this photo way over the prime (at least for me). Most of my HDRs are normally on the realistic side nonetheless, I decided to give the Fulton Mansion an intense makeover.

Mansion and Sanctuary

The Stonehenge Mansion was constructed in 1914 for Samuel Hoyt Venable, a bachelor, and his sister, Elizabeth Venable Mason, her husband, Frank Tucker Mason, and their youngsters. The architect for the mansion was Edward Bennett Dougherty. An additional of Mr. Venable’s Sisters, Mrs. Leilla Venable Ellis was responsible for the murals and other art function all through the house. The mansion was constructed in the Domestic Gothic Style of the Tudor period from Stone Mountain granite.

Sam Venable and his brother William Venable owned and operated the Southern Granite Company which in turn owned Stone Mountain, Arabia Mountain, and Pine Mountain. Naturally, they chose granite as the principal constructing material for their residence.

St. John’s Lutheran Church purchased the mansion in 1959 for some sixty thousand dollars and spent an additional fifty thousand dollars renovating it for its new use as a church. The sanctuary was added in 1969. Made by architects Barker and Cunningham, they employed the same Stone Mountain granite as the original structure.

The Mansion Home was a former hotel in the Rondout region of Kingston, New York. Rondout was as soon as a thriving river town positioned on an inlet of the Hudson River, and a lot of the region has been revitalized.
