No. A small percentage of people even qualify. We didnt.

It is not causing any damage to the economy.
It is just lots of fluff on paper, not really doing anything at all, one way or the other.
The economy is turning around. Some areas housing prices are going up. New home construction is up. Just worry about paying your mortgage and be grateful there are such programs. There are several loan modification programs. It is up to your bank to go along with it. The government cannot force a bank to comply.
